Thom Artway marries a modern sound to classic songwriting. His folk-pop draws you in with a distinctive voice and naggingly melodic earworms. He has built his own emotional musical world with impassioned, introspective lyrics. His debut album Hedgehog (2016, Warner Music) signalled a brave new talent, and scooped up two prestigious Anděl awards (the Czech Grammys). With his sophomore LP, All I Know (slated for international release in June 2019), Thom forges ahead with his spirited reinvention of the format.

 

The first salvo from the new record, the international single All I Know, saw support from the likes of CelebMix, Indie Band Guru and Music Match, among others. The second single, Sleeping Next To You, was given props by Clash, Talk About Pop Music, and many more.

Thom cut his teeth busking in the streets of Prague, and he first came to national attention when his song Towards the Sun was picked for the soundtrack for the Czech movie Křídla Vánoc. Following this early exposure, he travelled and played across Australia to hone his skills. His debut single I Have No Inspiration dominated the Czech charts for two years, becoming a domestic hit. Thom's new-found popularity culminated with his garnering serious recognition during awards season.

 

​In 2017, Thom Artway was singled out as the winner of 'International Music Project' for Czech Fresh, voted for by Mark Bennett from the London office of the United Talent Agency. Focused on Czech music exports, the prize enabled Thom to shoot a music video in YouTube Space in London and participate in European showcase festivals (Eurosonic Noorderslag 2019, the Alternative Great Escape 2018 in the UK, MaMA Festival in France, Waves Vienna 2018, Mastering the Music Business 2018 in Romania, and MusikMesse 2018 in Germany). 

Thom performed at the legendary Sziget festival in Hungary, and his tour took in Amsterdam, Helsinki, Zurich, Luxembourg and the UK.

In 2020 Thom released two singles. Caroline - produced by Dušan Neuwerth and Dream Your Life Away - produced by Eddie Stevens (Moloko).

 

He has shared stages with the likes of Glen Hansard, Zaz, Kaleo, and Charlie Winston. He has recorded duets with the Oscar-winning singer Markéta Irglová & Universal artist Lenny. He makes regular appearances at the most prestigious domestic festivals, such as Colours of Ostrava, Metronome, and Rock For People.
